Shock and Awe

Please tell me how to stop these tears
That are streaming down my cheeks.
My heart is hurting and I feel so sad
For the lack of peace we had, seek.

Perhaps in another time or place,
We shall feel these pains no more.
There will only be calm and justice,
Without constant fear of war.

For those, like me, who are burdened
At the "Shock and Awe" of today,
We have only to solemnly bow our heads,
With weak voices, to join and pray ...

For men and women who've been sent away
And may never, again, return;
Their families, forever, left grieving
While the world continues to burn.

For, this is a mere beginning of time
When evil is lurking in wait,
Until this campaign is finished;
To begin, yet, another slate.
