He Forgives and Forgets

I was thinking back, when I was young,
About all the sinful things I'd done.
But, when I got down upon my knees,
The Savior put my mind at ease.

He said, "Don't you worry about the past.
Into the seas, your sins I've cast."
He forgave my sins, so I could start brand new.
He said, "When you forgive, that's what you do."

When the Lord forgives us, He forgets.
He said, "Don't look back on past regrets."
He took my soul and set it free,
When He erased my sins from His memory.

So, Lord, if I start looking back,
Just keep my thoughts from jumping track
And remind me, Lord, with each new day,
That all my sins were washed away.
